CLOSED at least till early 2017

I have to move, so am packing my office and workshop and putting them in storage and I won’t be available until further notice, sorry about that. Probably will be until at least late January 2017, as I haven’t found a new place yet. Try my mobile if you need advice or there is any warranty issue with recent equipment, I’ll be available for special circumstances if I can be.

Remotes can be different

Hi, Shamus here from All Gates Electrical.. I have had some people contact me looking for remotes, but they don’t know the type of remote, just the gate brand. Sometimes remotes match the gate brand, sometimes they match the garage door brand and sometimes the alarm system. You can txt me a pic and I’ll try and ID it for you, sometimes I’m the right person to help you source it and sometimes I am not but I may be able to point you in the right direction.
If you have a remote which does everything (alarm, gate and garage door) you could lose it or have it stolen, which creates a security problem. I feel it’s best to not have the alarm on the same remote.

Auckland traffic

I try to keep off the road at peak hour to avoid long travelling times between jobs, and trying to keep to a schedule, but it is hard to predict arrival times sometimes, so I try and avoid exact arrival times. I can sometimes schedule times if absolutely necessary, so ask me about that if required.

Video and audio intercoms- why I prefer wired.

I have some familiarity with both video and audio intercoms and have retrofitted older audio intercoms with newer hands free video intercoms successfully. I don’t do wireless intercoms at this point, but I can point you to people who do if this is required because of difficulty with installation, damaged wires etc Wired is preferable in my opinion. When you get a wired intercom, the money goes mainly into the installation, which is normally a reliable long term investment compared with wireless intercoms which if (or when) they fail, can really only be economically replaced as a whole system, the product life isn’t long on intercoms, and systems rarely have interchangeable parts. On the other hand, wired intercoms sometimes have relatively inexpensive components which can be replaced when they fail and the maininvestment (wiring) is intact.

Rain and backlogs

Weather has created problems for me lately- work is coming in faster than I can clear it, happily I have my van back, which is well set up and helps me cut through the gate repair work load. I may have lost a couple of job cards after the accident, everything got a bit scrambled, sorry about that.Just phone or txt to remind me if your job seems unusually delayed please.
